Eccentric Artist: Patt Abutog
6:56 PMFor our first release, we collaborated with Patt Abutog who is known for her psychedelic and colorful art. Patt Abutog is not your ordinary artist. There are people who tend to follow trends basing it on what's in right now but Patt tends to be different. She has her own trademark when it comes to her art that you just get drawn so easily. They have a deeper meaning the more you look into it and can draw you in once you notice specific details within her art. Every detail is well thought of and illustrated by hand and it completes the whole artwork with style and meaning. Another cool factor is how she composes and compliments the layout of her work with the colors, style, words and type used within her art.
Its thought-provoking, inspiring and cultured all into one.
I have always been a fan of Patt's artworks and I always get giddy every time I see her post something new so she has always been on top of my list for possible collaborators. I thought her artworks fit best for tees to give a cool grungy IDGAF vibe and yet still exude her style so we released our first ever Artist Series on Tees.
The artist named the collaboration "Parallel" due to the fact that we have similar goals in life. The need to fill in the gap where art, design, music and fashion can all meet in one place is something that we share a dream of. All of our ideas and concepts seemed to mesh perfectly together and we were in sync to the point that there was a feeling of being parallel to one another.
What is the meaning of the design:
Patt thought of the elusive Jaguars as they are known to be very different from their species of cats. They are ferocious and agile and quick on their feet but they are also known to have a strong bond with one another.
The designs were created to represent the core values of The Number 60.
The Artist Series will be a section in The Number 60 where we wish to collaborate with different artists to be able to create amazing designs usable in everyday life. It is also created to help fellow artists bring their works come to life. We hope you support this series and believe in the artists that we feature as much as we believe in them. We also hope that you enjoy our products as much as we enjoy collaborating with these artists.
You may purchase our tee collaboration at our SHOP.
You may follow Patt on her INSTAGRAM and TUMBLR. She is currently a freelance graphic designer for Flux Design Labs and illustrates for Young Star Philippines.
A huge shout-out to DIANE NUGUID for lending The Number 60 some of her shots of Patt Abutog (colored shots and layouts). Diane is also a Multimedia Artist graduate just like Patt.
