i-D Magazine is a great magazine tackling not only fashion but also music and culture. They also have a great youtube channel catering to the youth tackling different topics from the usual fashion and arts to an in depth look into different cultures.

They have a mini-series about beauty beyond the surface. A series I actually encountered upon by chance that became a happy accident. In the series, Grace Neutral (yes, that's her name) travels to South Korea where beauty and body image is neck and neck with society and culture.

It's pretty ironic because its known that South Korea is the main base for cosmetic surgery yet at the same time their history shows conservativeness. Tattoo is extremely taboo and Kpop has been at the forefront of pushing boundaries in the beauty scene.

Its a very well-made mini documentary and the way Grace Neutral tackled every aspect of Beauty was on point, non-judgemental and yet at the same time endearing and empowering. Watch the full series of Beyond Beauty below:
